Aleksandra Gruca

Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice

Aleksandra Gruca is a professor at the Silesian University of Technology. Her research interests focus on machine learning methods for protein sequence data analysis and application of predictive models for the integrated analysis of large-scale heterogeneous datasets. From 2010 she’s a Member of the Board of the Polish Bioinformatics Society.

Marcin Grynberg

Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw

MG obtained his PhD in Molecular Biology from the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS in 2000. His research is focused on protein sequences. He’s also interested in bacterial systems involved in pathogenesis.

Patryk Jarnot

Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice

His major task in the project is to develop a method named GBSC which is designed for identifying, clustering and searching for short tandem repeats in proteins. He is also involved in development of MotifLCR, LCRAnnotationsDB and LCR-Platform.

Joanna Ziemska-Legięcka

Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw

Joanna Ziemska-Legięcka is a PhD student at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences. She obtained the Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Systems of Biology at the University of Warsaw at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics. Her interests concentrate on alignment algorithms, analysis of big-scale datasets and functions prediction of low complexity regions based on similarity.

Sylwia Szymańska

Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice

SS in 2020 began her PhD degree at the Joint Doctoral School of the Silesian University of Technology. Her research focuses on the application of text mining methods to find, and machine learning methods to predict, functions of low-complexity regions. SS is also interested in NGS analysis. Since 2020, she has been a member of Polish Bioinformatics Society and a member of International Society for Computational Biology.

Maciej Dzikowski

Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, University of Warsaw

MD obtained his BD in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from UW in 2021 and continues studying for a master’s degree.
